Pedro Silmon is creative director of the chic CondŽ Nast society title, TATLER. The magazineÕs current roster of contributing photographers includes among others, Alex Cayley, Joshua Jordan, Mark Abrahams, Torkil Gudnasson, Donald McPherson, Brigitte Lacombe and Jonathan Becker.
Talent-spotted as an undergraduate at LondonÕs Royal College of Art, Pedro was taken on at The Sunday Times Magazine and later became its Art director. He gave Kim Andreolli, Miles Aldridge and Craig McDean some of their first jobs. As well as commissioning covers from Jean-Paul Goode, he collaborated on a series of images with Edwardo Paolozzi. Richard Avedon, Henri-Cartier Bresson and David Bailey have all praised his layout work.
PedroÕs large format, picture book, The Bikini, published internationally and by Virgin books in the UK, is an essential item on every fashion directorÕs bookshelf. His writing and photographic work have appeared as major features in various prestigious British and German magazines, including TATLER, The CondŽ Nast Traveller and Architektur & Wohnen. His first novel is nearing completion.
